Today's Devotion:
365 Daily Devotions: Seminary Edition
💁🏻 Concept: Zephaniah (“Yahweh Protects”)
Zephaniah, a prophet in the days of King Josiah (7th century BC), proclaimed God’s coming judgment against Judah, surrounding nations, and the whole earth for sin and idolatry. Yet his prophecy also pointed to hope: God would preserve a remnant, purify His people, and bring ultimate restoration. Zephaniah climaxes with the promise that the Lord Himself will rejoice over His people with singing (Zeph. 3:17). Zephaniah highlights both God’s wrath against sin and His sovereign grace toward His elect—showing us the seriousness of sin and the sweetness of salvation in Christ, who secures final restoration for His people.
📖 Bible Readings: Zephaniah 1:14-15
(Zephaniah 1:18; 1:2–3; 1:4; 3:1–2; 1:5; 1:12; 2:3; 2:4; 2:11; 3:9; 3:12–13; 3:17; 3:19–20; Isaiah 13:6; Joel 2:1; Joel 2:31; Amos 5:18; Obadiah 1:15; Acts 2:20; 1 Thessalonians 5:2; 2 Peter 3:10; 2 Thessalonians 1:7–8; Revelation 6:17)

🙏🏼 Prayer:
Father, thank You for the message of Zephaniah that reminds me of both Your holiness and Your mercy. I confess that I often take sin too lightly, but You do not. LORD, I pray that all of our leaders in our country will come to know Jesus. Forgive them, Lord. May they surrender to His Lordship and be saved. But in case, they stubbornly refuse and they continue in their corruption, I pray that you remove them from power. Let them face the consequences of their evil deeds. Crush them due to their hardened hearts. I pray this, in Jesus’ name, amen.
