The proper use of any type of tool is something that we do need to be taught. This week we cover a handy tool for checking frame alignment - the Rx Aligner. Opticians use hand tools to perform adjustments on eyeglass frames. A plastic platform with a millimeter grid the aligner provides a level base for the frame and consistent reference points to test alignment. Optician training includes working with optical hand tools and adjusting eyeglass frames. Although not used for prescription alignment, the prescription aligner is a must-have tool for any optician.
