As both a member of the Brasil Guitar Duo and a soloist, João has premiered works written for him by Leo Brouwer, Paulo Bellinati, Marco Pereira, and Sergio Assad.

Join us as João talks about how he came to the guitar, his commissioning projects both as a performer and a composer, the joys of Brazilian choro and samba, his relationship with the late luthier Sergio Abreu, and his deep love of teaching.
