🍨 Hyderabadi Apricot Delight – Hotel-Style Layered Dessert
A chilled, creamy, fruity dessert inspired by the famous Hyderabad restaurant-style Apricot Delight.
No baking, no eggs — just simple layers of apricot compote, custard, and fresh cream.

⭐ INGREDIENTS & MEASUREMENTS
For Apricot Layer
Dried apricots – 150 g
Water – 2 cups
Sugar – ½ cup
Lemon juice – ½ tsp (optional)
For Custard Layer
Milk – 1 cup
Custard powder (vanilla) – 2 tbsp
Sugar – 2 tbsp
For Cream Layer
Fresh cream – ½ cup
(or whipped cream – 1 cup)
Powdered sugar – 1 tbsp
Vanilla essence – 2–3 drops
Garnish
Chopped pistachios or almonds – 2 tbsp
Rose syrup – 1 tsp (optional)

🍳 PREPARATION
1️⃣ Make Apricot Compote
1. Wash and soak dried apricots for 4 hours (or overnight).
2. Add apricots with the same water to a pan.
3. Cook for 12–15 minutes until soft.
4. Add ½ cup sugar and cook another 10 minutes until thick and glossy.
5. Mash slightly, keep it chunky.
6. Cool completely.

2️⃣ Make Vanilla Custard
1. Heat 1 cup milk.
2. Mix 2 tbsp custard powder with 2 tbsp cold milk and add to boiling milk.
3. Add 2 tbsp sugar.
4. Cook for 3–4 minutes on low flame until creamy.
5. Cool completely.

3️⃣ Prepare Cream Layer
1. Take ½ cup fresh cream.
2. Add 1 tbsp powdered sugar + vanilla essence.
3. Whip lightly until smooth.
(If using whipped cream, no sugar needed.)

4️⃣ Layer the Dessert
In a glass or dessert cup:
1. Apricot compote
2. Custard
3. Cream
4. Repeat layers
5. Garnish with nuts
6. Chill for 1–2 hours before serving
