Try to find some time during your day to take a few minutes and relax your mind. It may help to refresh yourself and reorient your mental compass. Whether it's just a couple minutes, ten, thirty, an hour, or even several, take what you can get, or however much feels right.
If you don't know where to begin, go ahead and follow along, and don't worry about whether you might be doing anything right or wrong, the important thing is to relax. Different martial arts and Zen practices have different techniques and goals, but we don't care about any of that; we're going to freestyle it in a way that works for everyone.
First off, try to find a comfortable position that you can hold for a long period of time, with your body in a relaxed state. Cross-legged & hands layered open works best for me as my default. Feel free to put on your own music list, while you're at it. Doesn't matter if it's classic, rock, anime, hip-hop, or even metal, as long as it helps you to relax.
Now, close your eyes (after reading 😋), and focus on your breathing. Take slow, deep breaths, breathing in through the nose, and exhaling out through the mouth. Keep doing this; we'll be, "forcibly," putting our body in a relaxed state by doing this, which in turn will help the mind to relax.
After feeling your body & mind relaxing, feel free to keep the breathing technique going, but don't feel pressured to do so either. After reaching this state, feel free to freestyle it from here on out; let your mind wander off like a daydream, focusing on a single thought to sharpen the mind, deep breathing to cleanse the mind, etc.
