The Raisby formation occurs at the lower part of the Zechstein group. It is composed primarily of magnesian carbonates. During deposition a large scale sliding event has been identied all across the region. Likely caused by earthquakes, the Downhill slide, named after the location it was first observed, can be see in qaurries at this location.
