『工藝風土』台東区：東京銀器／上川宗達 ー "Milieu and Craft"

“風土が工藝を育み 工藝は風土を物語る”
『工藝風土』は、風土と工藝の往還をテーマにした短編ドキュメンタリーです。
第一回は、台東区 蔵前の「東京銀器」の伝統工芸士、上川宗達氏に取材しました。

氏は、「東京銀器」の技法を江戸時代から１１代継承してきた家系に生まれ、若くから研鑽を積み、2001年に当時最年少で伝統工芸士の認定を受けました。
その後、限りなく１００%の純銀に近い「シルバー９９９」による独自の技法を磨き、2021年に独立。
台東区蔵前に工房兼店舗を備えた「宗達アートクラフト」を立ち上げ、日々自ら店に立ち、ユーザーとの交流の中で、銀器の魅力を発信しています。

"Milieu"ー"Fudō" (風土) is called "Milieu" in French.
Auguste Berg's concept of "Milieu" (Fudō/風土) refers to the idea that a specific place's natural environment and culture interact and influence each other, shaping the unique characteristics of that place.
"Milieu and Craft" is a short documentary on the theme of the correspondence between Milieu and crafts.
The first episode features an interview with Kamikawa Sotatsu, a traditional craftsman at "Tokyo Silverware" in Kuramae, Taito Ward.

Kamikawa Sotatsu was born into a family that has been passing down the techniques of "Tokyo Silverware" for 11 generations since the Edo period. He devoted himself to his studies from a young age, and in 2001 became the youngest person to be certified as a traditional craftsman at that time.
He then honed his unique techniques using "Silver 999," which is close to 100% pure silver, and became independent in 2021.
He established "Sotatsu Art Craft," which has a studio and store in Kuramae, Taito Ward, and is in the store every day, communicating the appeal of silverware through interactions with users.
