The event of the year! (so far!) Recently-restored Reading & Northern T-1 4-8-4 #2102 returned to the rails on April 26th, 2022 to haul a consist of 50 empty coal cars plus a caboose to simulate a passenger consist as a test run for the upcoming Iron Horse Rambles excursions. RBMN CEO Andy Muller was at the throttle to bring 2102 from North Reading to Jim Thorpe and return. Eastern Railfan Productions was onsite to witness this historic event, beginning at Leesport and ending in Nesquehoning on the first leg, then reversing course to as far as Tamaqua for the return trip. This will be the first of many visits as we will be taking part in these future excursions throughout the year! As a bonus, we caught Port Clinton-Tamaqua manifest PNQA at New Ringgold with a GP38-2 - GP39RN - SD40-2 power set leading mixed freight and...more coal cars!
