A while back I was given an old rusty Shopsmith and a box of accessories that was on its way to the landfill. After a lot of clean up the motor worked for a while but is in need of a full rebuild or to be tossed out. The bandsaw that came along with the box of rusty accessories was equally worn out. It had leaves, mud, bugs, and dirt in every part of shell. I wonder how many years it was out in the weather. And I was missing the cover for it. I like rescuing old tools so I cleaned, sanded, oiled, and then made a cover for the saw. I had a couple old drill press motors lying around so I made a pulley and mount for the old saw and am pleasantly surprised how well it seems to be working even with an old blade.
