I noticed the trends, so since we are in the beginning of 2023 I thought it would be fun to try and predict what is going to happen with the Hardcore
the scene this year.
If you are watching this in the future, let me know in the comments if I was right or wrong and while you are at it give it a subscribe and a like,
if you are watching this from the present, like this and subscribe...DO IT NOW!
Guess #1
Tracks get shorter
As the attention span globally becomes smaller and smaller, I would expect music to reflect this trend as well.
I am not saying that there won't be tracks that are 7 minutes long, but I would expect the majority of tracks to fall in the 3-4 mins range.
Especially because nobody gives a flying BEEP about 1 minute and a half of claps intro pads.
Guess #2
the overall BPM will slow down
So I'm not expecting darkcore to be like mainstage or anything like that, but I've been listening to hardcore techno for the past 20 years, and I
noticed that it tends to go in cycles.
So there have been years where it was pretty fast, then it slowed down, then it set in the middle, and in the latest years it has been raising in
speed quite a bit.
This guess is based on the fact that top artists like Angerfist and DJ Mad Dog have been releasing slower tracks that are borderline with Industrial
and Hard Techno,
Third Movement is back to releasing industrial techno with one of its sub-labels,Drokz has released a full album with his Richie Gambino kind of in
that direction as well.
So I'm not saying that in 2023 there will not be any terror, speedcore, or uptempo releases but I wouldn't expect Hardcore to globally follow that
direction
Guess #3
I would expect AI to play a major role
So if you've been playing around with mid-journey, stable diffusion, dall-e you know that AI has massively revolutionized graphic design.
I would expect AI to start playing a major role, not necessarily producing major hardcore hits on its own but I would expect music production to
start relying more on AI for several tasks
which could turn around music production as we know it.
On that note, I and the team are working on something MASSIVE that we will be releasing this year so I would keep an eye open on We Tweak...
Guess #4
more artists, fewer labels
As it became easier to release your music on your own, I expect more artists to start their own thing and release music directly through distributors
like distro kid, TuneCore, etc. The reason behind that is that major artists already have the following they need and it would be
more convenient to release music on their own terms, at their own pace, etc.
Tha Playah already started his own thing some time ago, same goes for Mad Dog, but I would expect other artists as well not to necessarily
start a label where other artists release as well but I would expect more artist to start their personal outlet.

3:09 AI will be big
