Following a long hiatus from retro game collecting, I have decided to make a return. This time however I’m focussing more on curating my own personal retro games library. Primarily consisting of loose USA / NTSC NES and SNES games, with a view to playing and trying to beat as many of them as I can.
Looking back, I feel I was way more focused on trying to source the nicest, complete copies of each game possible, and not spending time actually playing the games anywhere near as much.
After selling my previous boxed complete collection, I used Everdrive devices to play games, as and when I felt the urge. However, I didn’t really feel satisfied playing that way and found myself hopping between games very often as it was too easy to just reset and pick another game from the list and start over.
Since starting to buy a selection of games again, I have found myself fully invested in actually playing them and sticking at them until I finally beat them. I get great satisfaction advancing further in each game than I had ever previously reached before. And in some cases, eventually beating them for the very first time.
I’m therefore starting a new series of videos where I share my latest additions and provide an update on games I’ve played/beaten recently.
