This is all my B-roll from UH Vs. UCSB Doubleheader (4/19/25)

The Rainbow Wahine Softball team earned a doubleheader split with the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos on Saturday at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. They won game 1, 4-3, but lost game two, 5-3.

After a scoreless first two innings, UH struck first via a double home run from Izabella Martinez! It was enough to bring in Larissa Goshi for an early 2-0 lead!

UCSB got a home run of their own to cut the deficit in half in the fourth, but that did not phase UH at all.

In the fifth, Martinez hit an RBI single that brought in teammate Chloe Borges to make it 3-1 UH.

Santa Barbara's Banks blasted a two-run homer in the sixth to tie the score at 3, but Hawaiʻi found an answer somewhere.

Milan Ah-Yat blasted a solo home run to put UH back in the lead, 4-3! That Ah-Yat homer was the final run of the game and UH's sixth straight win of the season!

In game 2, Santa Barbara struck first with an RBI double from Bella Fuentes that brought in teammate Delana Ma'ae for the early 1-0 lead.

An inning later, UH got two RBIs from Larissa Goshi and Carys Murakami that brought in Cierra Yamamoto and Goshi respectively. UH found themselves in the lead, 2-1.

UCSB responded back in the fifth with four rums scored. That started with a double home run from Ainsley Waddell. Next was a 2 RBI single from Fuentes, and UCSB was back in the lead, 5-2.

UH tried to rally in the final two innings, but they were held to a single run in the sixth from Liliana Thomas. They had a final chance in the seventh with two runners on base, but Jamie McGaughey struck out, and pinch runner Sunni Kahanu was tagged out off a Thomas fielder's choice.

UH will hit the road for four games. That starts with a Wednesday game at Northridge at 9 a.m. and follows with a 3-game series against the Cal Poly Mustangs. UH will play a single game against Cal Poly on Friday, April 25 at 2 p.m. HST and play a doubleheader on April 26 at 1:30 p.m. HST.
