On today’s episode of The Sitch, we’re talking about intermittent fasting.
Intermittent fasting has become extremely popular recently, with fitness and health gurus spouting the benefits all over social media.
Intermittent fasting (aka time-restricted feeding) is the practice of eating only during a certain time frame each day. This can be anywhere from 1 hour a day (also known as one meal a day, or OMAD) to the typical 12 hours, and fasting the rest of the day.
Proponents of intermittent fasting claim it helps with weight loss, athletic performance, increased energy, disease prevention, and improved cognition.
But how realistic are these benefits? Do they match up with what the science says or should we stick to the standard 3 meals a day?
