Track 11 from their sixth and final album “On Every Street” released in 1991 copyright Warner Bros. Records. It was recorded at AIR Studios in London. After the huge success of their previous album “Brothers in Arms,” a world tour followed in April, 1985 consisting of 248 shows in more than 100 cities that took a full year to complete. It included an appearance at Wembley Stadium in London as part of the “Live Aid” festival to benefit victims of famine in Africa. Once the tour was over the band took a break, after which Mark Knopfler turned his attention to solo projects and composing film scores. In 1988 he announced that Dire Straits had been dissolved and cited his need to rest as a main factor saying “It just got too big.” However, two years later he re-formed the band as a four-piece without a drummer and released this album with the help of numerous studio musicians. It received mixed but mostly average reviews. Despite that, the album was still hugely successful. It reached No. 1 in fifteen countries and was certified Platinum in six, 2X Platinum in four, 4X Platinum in Spain and Switzerland and Diamond in France. The band embarked on another massive world tour over almost two years, this time playing 300 shows with 7.1 million tickets sold. The tour took a toll on the member’s personal lives and when it was over, Knopfler decided he’d had enough of the rockstar lifestyle and put an end to it by permanently dissolving the band. He said at the time that if someone could tell him the benefits of fame, he’d really like to hear it.
