Tesla Model Y | DIY Radiator Cleaning

Cleaning your Tesla Model Y radiator might not sound like essential maintenance — but trust me, if yours looks anything like mine did, you’re not going to want to leave it that way. Over time, the radiators and condensers up front collect dust, leaves, bugs, and road grime, which can seriously impact cooling performance and battery efficiency.

This wasn’t a difficult job at all — just a little time-consuming. Judah and I knocked it out in about six hours, and that included filming the entire process (which easily doubles the time). With basic hand tools, a few trim removers, and a good cleaning solution, you can get your Model Y breathing freely again.

Removing the fan assembly definitely wasn’t required, but it helped make the job a lot easier and gave us better access for a deeper clean. If you live in a hot climate or drive on dusty roads often, this is one of those maintenance steps that’s absolutely worth doing once a year.

💧 Pro Tip: Always use a low-pressure rinse and avoid blasting the fins — they bend easily!
