Catching cheating spouse

Some people might ask, "the law mandates both parties file bank statements as part of income affidavit, why need to procure it separately?"

The reason is, the spouse can delay filing bank statements for a very long time in maintenance applications.


Moreover, the spouse who has something to hide will remove pages from bank statements which disclose their follies.

On top of that, courts even now sometimes proceed with the case without requiring spouses to file bank statements.

And if the spouse has concealed some bank entries, courts usually don't go through the trouble of forcing complete disclosure.

Hence, if you find bank statements of your spouse lying around the house, might as well get your hands on them.

Please note. If you illegally procure bank statements or call detail records, you must not file them directly in court, otherwise your friends who provided that information can be prosecuted under Section 72A of the Information Technology Act.
