The Gatwick Airport shuttle operates at London Gatwick Airport, England. It links the North terminal to the South Terminal and Train Station and opened in 1987. It operates as 2 separate parallel tracks, with no crossovers. Trains shuttle up and down the 2 tracks independently from each other. It currently uses 6 Bombardier CX-100 vehicles, joined into 2x 3 car trains, one for each track. Trains are powered by electric and run on a concrete guideway on rubber tyres. It is 0.75 miles (1.21km) long and a journey takes 2 mins. Trains run every 10 mins on each track, making a total service frequency of 1 trains every 5 mins.
