Most houses and commercial buildings (offices, schools) are built mostly of 2x4 'sticks' of framing with a board of sheetrock nailed on each side.
There will be parts more substantial but the majority of the walls you see and use are made this way.
Imagine you need to hide from a shooter inside your home or an active shooter at work or at school. Do these walls offer you or your loved ones protection?
Conversely if you are using a firearm inside your home or work and you miss (which without a LOT of training you will miss) what happens to those stray rounds impacting your 'safe' backstop?
