Today I'm working on my first touch but I'm by myself...
I start off with juggling to get a good feel for the ball. I start with below the knee juggling for lots of touches. I then transition to waist height juggling. Fore these i am focusing on using my laces to keep the ball from spinning. After that, I am doing above the head juggling, also keeping the ball from spinning by using my laces. Finally, I use my instep to find the sweet spot. then directional touches into space out of the air, using all the areas of my foot to push the ball into space.
After this, I moved on to position based touches. As a left back I worked on different touches to get past a pressing winger. Although the focus was to push my first touch forward. It is also important to work on being under immense pressure. i did this by taking my first touch backwards and doing a skill to still push the ball forward while keeping the ball protected.
