"Perentie" is the nickname given to the Land Rover 110 produced for the Australian Army, an honor bestowed as a result of the "Perentie Trials" - which was the official Australian Army trial used to select new 1 and 2 tonne light vehicles. It is based on the Defender 110 and features a widened rear chassis to allow placement of the rear tire under the load area. It also received a galvanized chassis and an Isuzu engine (3.9L 4BD1 in this example). The Perentie has proved its capabilities during missions in Australia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, the Somolon Islands, and Timor Liste. Just 38 Perenties were built in this particular configuration: Truck, CarryAll, Lightweight, Troop Carrier, MC2.
