A day in Janitzio Island & Pátzcuaro in Michoacán | MEXICO | Ep. 24

Hola amigos! I have moved from Mexico City to Michoácan. In this episode, I will show you how I spend a day in Janitzio Island & Pátzcuaro.

When I do my research, I found that most of the videos talk about the above places are in Spanish. They seem to be popular for domestic travelers only. If you do slow travel like me, it's great to have a chill day there. When traveling becomes daily life, sometimes it is a little stressful.

In order to go to Janitzio Island, I first took a one-hour bus to Pátzcuaro from Morelia. Then, I arrived at the Pátzcuaro pier. Finally, I reached Janitzio Island by boat.

A statue of José Maria Morelos, a great hero of Mexico's independence, is found on the island's highest point. Inside the statue, it has murals to tell the stories about him.

Without any plan, I passed by a local event. People were eating tamales and collecting bamboo.

Before heading back to Morelia, I walked around the downtown in Pátzcuaro, one of the magical towns. It looks very different and unique.
