Part 9 is a fitting epilogue for the "China Today 1990" series, because it ideally contrasts the amazing two entrepot cities of old Cathay, where European adventurers first established a foothold in ancient China. Huge and bustling Shanghai of 1990 is but a shadow of it's huge size and power in 2012, but it provides a fascinating and superbly detailed picture for my camera of that meeting place between East and West. Wonderful images!! By comparison, Hong Kong is more restrained but, as England's free-port for centuries, the achievements of free enterprise in HK are vividly conveyed by the camcorder and the importance of both to a rapidly emerging China today is immense. Superb viewing to conclude this wide ranging travelogue of amazing 1990's China! Thought provoking and quite compulsive viewing! Enjoy!
