This is a sweet story about Mount Pleasant Farm and Equine Rescue where underprivileged girls learn to care for rescued horses. Together they experience kindness and healing under the caring supervision of the founder, Judi Merrifield, and her staff. This 5 minute piece was my final video project as a student with the venerable photojournalist, Dirck Halstead, at The Maine Photographic Workshops in August of 2005. Coming from a background in still photography, this was my first time working with a video camera, audio equipment and editing software. The whole experience proved to be very challenging and stressful in many ways, but it made for wonderful first steps on what became my chosen path.
