This video shows the process of safely cleaning a telescope mirror. The mirror being cleaned in this video is 14" in diameter. Use only distilled water. The cleaning solution was 1 gal. of distilled water with 1 drop of Dawn™ dish soap. Use sterilized cotton very gently. Chris Hand who cleans this mirror built his own dobsonian reflector to house his 41" mirror.
Always be cautious about reflections from the sun which can cause serious harm.
