The Black Country Living Museum is an open-air museum in Dudley, West Midlands, that brings the history of the Black Country to life.

The 26-acre site with reconstructed houses, shops, factories, and a canal, recreating life in the Black Country during the 19th and early 20th centuries. It’s one of the UK’s leading living history museums.

The Black Country was one of the world’s first industrialised regions, known for coal mining, iron working, glassmaking, and canals. The museum tells the story of the people who lived and worked there between the 1850s and 1940s.

Costumed characters acting as townsfolk, shopkeepers, and workers.

A recreated canal village and underground mine experience.

Old-fashioned shops like a sweet shop, chemist, pub, and chip shop.

Traditional transport such as historic trams and trolleybuses.

Regular events, demonstrations of crafts and trades, and seasonal celebrations.

The museum has been used as a filming location for the BBC series Peaky Blinders.
