Federal Innovation Minister François-Philippe Champagne, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, and Ontario Economic Development Minister Vic Fedeli take part in a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the future Asahi Kasei facility in Port Colbourne, Ontario. Asahi Kasei Corporation is investing approximately $1.6 billion to build the facility for the production of battery separators, an essential component of the lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles.
