Good Friday Concert at Laufáskirkja – Óskar Pétursson & Petra Björk Pálsdóttir | April 18, 2025

On Good Friday, April 18, 2025, the historic Laufáskirkja church near Grenivík in North Iceland hosted a special Lent Concert.

Among the works performed were:

Á föstudaginn langa (Ég kveiki á kertum mínum) – Ellen Kristjánsdóttir
Ég kveiki á kertum mínum – Karlakórinn Fóstbræður
Næturljóð úr Fjörðum – text by Böðvar Guðmundsson

These pieces were part of a much broader program of sacred and Icelandic music performed by:

🎤 Óskar Pétursson – celebrated Icelandic singer, member of Álftagerðisbræður, with frequent performances in Harpa (Reykjavík) and Hof (Akureyri).
🎶 Petra Björk Pálsdóttir – singer from Grenivík, graduate of the National Church Music School (Tónskóli þjóðkirkjunnar).
