The next Nagar Kirtan date is taking place on Sunday 6th April 2025

The Delicious Food & Drink seen served free: Gulab Jamun, Chole Bhature (Chickpea Curry with fried Puri), Vada Pav in Bread, Papri Chaat, Bread Pakoras (with a spicy mashed potato filling), Pakoras, Masala Chai, Masala Chips, Pani Puri served with sweet & sour flavoured water, Bhajias with Ketchup, Aloo Tikki, Jalebi & more.

The Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan event celebrates Sikh and Punjabi culture and is one of the most important events in the Sikh calendar, at the event (which has a festival or Mela type atmosphere) Sikhs give out free langar, langar is Prasad (also known as food blessed by God) so they don't charge for it.

This was "Indian Street Food Heaven" because some of the Indian sub-continents most famous and favourite of street foods were being served up..........for free!!!

We are very much humbled, in awe and honoured to have attended this event and to have gotten to taste the tastiest of freshly made food anywhere, being given food that was blessed by hand and human touch and further energised and charged by positive thoughts.

You would be forgiven if you thought that these Indian Street Food stalls (or "Laris") were somewhere on the busy, bustling streets, beaches or restaurants of India - astonishingly these guys were making these Indian treats in the heart of "Proper London" - making them fresh and serving them piping hot within a matter of minutes.........delicious restaurant quality food with no service charge added !!!

Unlike some places there was nothing hidden and no secret to the recipes because everything was made in full view of people in the open kitchens.

You can go many times to India and love it every moment of your time spent there, (but you're always sad in the knowledge that India only exists in India and nowhere else) the sights you see, the sounds you hear, the people you meet (in India); all serve to feed you not just physically but also emotionally and spiritually. So when we come across guys such as this, we humbly say a prayer, raise our hat and take a bow because they have not only given us just a snack but also given us a taste of back home.

A special thank you to all of the people who came together for this event, everyone we came across very much welcomed us and graciously allowed us privileged glimpses into their kitchens to do the videoing even though they were extraordinarily busy.

It is truly refreshing to come across people who are carrying out unconditional service to help the most needy in our society this we have found especially with the Sikh / Singh community, may God Bless them all for what they do!!!
