There are two ways we hear, we have the air conduction pathway and bone conduction pathway, the air conduction pathway is the process where the external ear picks the vibration in the air and deliver it to the middle ear to concentrate the vibrations to the inner ear that is incased in side our skull. The inner ear, specifically the cochlea, will process vibration and transmute it to electric signals and deliver it to the brain via the nerve. The brain then interpret it as sound. The second way to hear is through bone conduction pathway, were in we vibrate the skull that in cases the inner ear.

The indication of this product is for those people with normal bone conduction thresholds.Common diseases that has normal bone conduction thresholds are those individuals with conductive hearing loss such as atresia of the ear, microtia of the ear, infection of the external ear, infection of the middle ear and those who have obstruction in the air conduction pathway like tumor in the ear canal or impacted cerumen.
