Book Overview
The Gospel of Mark is the earliest and fastest-paced Gospel, focusing on Jesus' actions as the powerful Son of God and suffering servant, beginning with his baptism and ending abruptly after the empty tomb discovery, urging readers to recognize the Messiah's true, sacrificial nature. It emphasizes Jesus' miracles, authority, and call to discipleship, but also his secrecy about being the Messiah, a theme resolved through his crucifixion and resurrection.


Equip means " to prepare (someone) mentally for a particular situation or task"

" To provide something needed for a particular purpose" (Oxford Dictionary)


Structure of the text
V.14: Jesus appeared to eleven disciples after his resurrection from the dead
V. 15-18: Jesus Commissioned his disciple to preach the Gospel in all mankind.
V.19: Jesus ascended into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father.
V.20: Jesus worked in the lives of the disciples in the mission field.


Outline of the text
I. JESUS WANTS YOU TO BE EQUIPPED IN YOUR FAITH V.14
V.14 Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because [s]they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen.

Increase your faith in Jesus.
Believe that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead .


II. JESUS WANTS YOU TO BE EQUIPPED TO PERFORM SIGNS, WONDERS, AND MIRACLES. V.15-18
Empowered to proclaim the Gospel v.15
Empowered to perform signs, wonders, and miracles V.17-18

III. JESUS WANTS YOU TO BE EQUIPPED IN SHARING THE GOSPEL. V.15&20
V.20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.
Share the Gospel everywhere. V.20
Share that Jesus Christ is alive, and he is now working. V.20
Share the Gospel with the sick people and those who are oppressed by demons. v.17-18


Message of the text
Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Living One, and He wants His disciples to be equipped and empowered to do the great commission.


Conclusion
V.19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
