George Malenkov was a person of new generation, in contrast of Lenin and Stalin. He had no ideological position during Revolution, as he was still very young. Malenkov went along and joined Bolsheviks and quickly climbed the nomenklatura ladder. He occupied the position of Chief of Ministers Council, which was occupied by Stalin before his death. But being too cautious and indecisive, Malenkov wasn't able to outflank Khrushchev in power competition.
