4 days after Storm Ciara blasted through the UK and pretty much wrecked the place. We visited Ballintoy and was astounded at what had happened to the secret beach. On the Sunday we witnessed waves at upto 25 foot high, this pulled sand from the cove known as the secret beach and depleted it of sand and reduced the height of the beach of about 6 feet of sand in places and uncovered rock that had previously been covered for many years. This shows just what big waves within a storm can do..
