Comedians Jean Kittson and Wendy Harmer drop into the studio for the ABC’s 90th birthday anniversary to reminisce about their heady days performing live on the ABC sketch comedy series The Big Gig.

Their favourite characters, and the extraordinary roll-call of guests including Judith Lucy, Denise Scott, and The Doug Anthony All-Stars are all savoured before a surprise appearance by popular All-Star Tim Ferguson.

The Big Gig became known for showcasing many new comedy acts, including Anthony Morgan, Jimeoin, Greg Fleet, Lano and Woodley, Scared Weird Little Guys and The Umbilical Brothers.

The Big Gig was a much loved Australian television sketch comedy music/variety series based on the British TV series Saturday Live.

It was produced and broadcast on ABC TV in the late 1980s and early 1990s and was produced and directed by Neil Wilson and Ted Robinson, who started his career as the director of the second series of the acclaimed The Aunty Jack Show in the early 1970s.
