My Favorite Lens is a 50mm F1 - Everyday Photography

After about a month with this lens, i can tell you that it is my favorite everyday lens. 50mm to many is a versatile tool that allows you to step away or get closer to your subject and isolate it no matter the environment. It also happens to be in a physics sweet spot for large apertures to be added to the deal while keeping the lens relatively small. There are many companies making large aperture lenses at affordable/accesible prices with the big companies like Leica, Sony Nikon and Canon making their own at a couple thousands. So this puts Voigtlander a well regarded and in many ways able to compete with the big brands due to its heritage and quality. This 50mm F1 rivals all the best of the best and is it's own trophy lens. With a little practice and an excellent helicoid close focus adapter as I have from Light lens labs this lens is adaptable to any mirrorless system ready for action. Here are my sample pics and some video to give you an idea. I'll likely return to this and provide a longer term review with even more samples a this is now easily a lens I will take everywhere, glued to the beautifully made SL2S
