This is the story of Richard Bong's P-38 Lightning named "Marge", and how she was created, used, and lost in the Pacific theater of World War II. Richard Bong became the American ace of ace for the US Army Air Force, and while with the 49th Fighter Group, "Marge" was his most famous fighter as he took on the Japanese.
