Heavy rains in the Puget Sound region of Washington State the week of December 8, 2025 caused landslides and widespread flooding. A landslide on the Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail crossed I-90, closing the freeway for several hours while the debris was removed. The trail remains closed. The South Fork Snoqualmie River passes through Olallie State Park east of North Bend. Extremely high floodwaters created a spectacular display at Weeks Falls and Twin Falls. Issaquah Creek flows through Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah. A massive habitat restoration project that completed earlier this year was tested by the first flood since completion.
