The video has been re-uploaded since the newscast switched back to the original 2011 Trivers/Myers Music theme after Maurice DuBois and John Dickerson took over as co-anchors on January 27, 2025.

CBS Evening News' 1987 theme marked the first time the program used an orchestral composition, breaking a policy prohibiting music use in the early days of television news. CBS initially used a simple ticker sound for opening, bumper, and closing, but as ratings declined and NBC's Nightly News theme gained popularity, CBS commissioned composers to create a new theme. The theme was retired in 1991 but made two comebacks in 2011 and 2025, with original recordings used and slightly remastered.
