As computers shrink and demands for computing power intensify, the limits of current semiconductor technology are becoming increasingly apparent. In this video, we present spintronics, an alternative approach to computing that’s based on electron spin instead of electric charge. Spintronics, which is already used in specialized computer memory, could become widespread in the coming years.
