Had a great session today at the range with the Walther Q5 Match SF. One of the drills I ran was Mason Lane’s version of the Trigger Control at Speed drill.
Normally this drill is done a dry fire. Gun is aimed at target. At the beep, you press the trigger as fast as possible. This drill is great for learning to pulls the trigger without disturbing the sights under pressure.
Mason’s version is done in live fire and adds the element of a follow up shot. It’s sort of like Doubles Drill with Trigger Control at Speed thrown in.
This drill can be tough. It’s easy to tense up while anticipating the beep and trying to run the trigger fast while maintaining good fundamentals of trigger press, grip and recoil management.
