Epic Kayak Magnet Fishing in Ithaca – Six Mile Creek and Canal Aventure Begins! Pruyne (Prine) Time

🔥 Whoa, Here We Go! If serenity and tetanus had a baby and strapped it to a powder-blue kayak, it would be this trip. I launched into Six-Mile Creek in Ithaca, NY, where the air was thick enough to hang laundry on, the water moved like it was late for an appointment, and my magnet clearly didn’t get the “relaxing day” memo.

This waterway sits right beside the historic Waterloo-Ithaca Canal system, once a feeder of commerce and industry tying towns, rail, and transport to the Cayuga Lake corridor. Today, it feeds my magnet whatever sharp relics it finds edible. The canal was calmer but equally suspicious—quiet surface, packed aquatic résumé full of metal, mystery, and that unmistakable clunk of “there’s definitely more down there.”
