Starting from Kakegawa Station, I check out a matcha café (yes… including matcha beer), then head to Kakegawa Castle, one of the most charming small castles in Japan. Inside, I explore the lookout tower, samurai armor displays, and the beautiful Goten palace.
After that, I hike up the mountain to Takatenjin Shrine and continue all the way to the Takatenjin Castle Ruins — a historic fortress with amazing panoramic views of Kakegawa City.
