On March 9, 2024, a California Highway Patrol officer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was traveling in the right shoulder on the Northbound 110 freeway through Downtown Los Angeles. The woman initially failed to pull over. Once she eventually stopped, she stated she didn't have identification on her and she refused to provide her full name and date of birth. She then fled and the CHP initiated a pursuit. The lead officer was given permission to use the PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle, but the woman ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle before the PIT maneuver could be applied.
