[My first and Former WR] Ty The Tasmanian Tiger Any% in

Hello, I am SirLaurenceNZ (aka Lawn)
and this is my first Any% WR with a time of 31:07 set at ~11pm NZT 21.07.21.

I played Ty the Tasmanian Tiger as a kid, however found it incredibly daunting while only 4-5 years old. My Mum showed my sister and I how to play and beat the game when we were younger, they still both have fond memories of Ty and have enjoyed seeing my foray into speedrunning it!

Ironically, Ty had never been my main game growing up and probably never will be as I've heavily involved with Age of Empires 2. However, Ty has and will always have a special place in my heart! I can definitely see myself speedrunning the game for years to come, running, teaching, coaching, glitch hunting, routing and racing are all to much fun for me to see myself giving them up, considering I've played AoE2 for 17 years now I don't see why I'd give up on another game I love!

Now, onto the run details with gold difs:

2up: No large mistakes, just un-optimal execution on a few things

Ship: Basically perfect with the exception of getting a little stuck after ship button, I needed to aim into the ship initially then have a bigger turnout to make it around the turn without hitting the ship again. 1.5dif

Walk: Pretty damn good 0.7dif :D

Bulls Pen: RNG bull scream on pillar 3 despite hiding behind pillar, then slightly slow reveals. 4.4dif

Bridge: Pretty damn good, little awkward on the Neddy however I did get Dennis throw, lost another little bit to failing turkey 360 as well. 2.5dif

Outback: Would have been a gold if it weren't for emus (got a 9:07.9x) which is around 14s slower than Kama's emus on his 31:12. This costing 10.3dif

Snow: Ummm, I golded without a Lawnswim xD. potential 8.0dif

Crikey:
I golded!

Gateskip/Cass Pass:
Took tree pretty slow and had an unlucky first dive for ground swim on gateskip. 1.0dif

Crest/Final battle: Pretty good, only really lost time on wires and almost lost the run to a rather daring frill! 2.3dif

Overall summary: In total I'm now 23s off my SOB with the new golds included. 15-18s of which I feel was RNG (mainly emus). So in my eyes I only made 5-8s of mistakes vs my golds which is incredible and something for me to be proud of!

Now, for some PSA's:
1. If you are learning the game, do not worry about 2up skip until you're around 35min
2. If you are experiencing several crashes per hour you might want to disable analog inputs on your controller by unbinding the joysticks/triggers etc, after doing this I got rid of most of my crashes that killed ~75 WR pace runs between walk and crikey
3. Join the Ty Discord and feel free to tag me or ask for help in the #ty1-general channel and watch any runners listed in the #streams channel:   / discord

Thankyou once again to everyone who has been so welcoming towards me coming into the community, it has been a pleasure and a journey over the last 193 days from sub hour now to world record, bringing WR to Oceania for the first time in Ty Speedrunning so far as I can tell.
