A new way to sell music to fans enticed Ice-T to place his bets on the then-new phenomenon that was the internet. Free from major label pressures, the aging MC began to align with forces that shared the same democratizing philosophy. With its multi-faceted distribution strategy, tributary feel, and a faint nod to retirement, 1999’s SEVENTH DEADLY SIN was supposed to be a first step towards digital revolution. But entrenched music conglomerates and a lagging career, not to mention a technology that was still in its infancy, were formidable foes.
