Nepal Health Screening Camp for 92 Patients in 6 Hours! | Nomad Docs

In this episode, we visit the Kunsang Choling Nunnery, a Buddhist institution on the outskirts of Kathmandu that takes in, cares for, and educates Nepali girls.

Dr. Nishant Joshi and Dr. Lorenzo Albala hosted a community health clinic at a local nunnery. They saw 92 patients from pre-school age to 80s-year old in 8 hours. They assessed several minor issues (skin infections, constipation, dysmenorrhea) and recommended specialty referrals for more serious pathology. Many of the younger nuns have never had medical contact, so this was a great opportunity to have a positive impact.

In addition, we had a chance to visit the beautiful and spiritual nunnery and enjoyed a lot of laughter and Nepali hospitality. Thank you to community leader Dadoma Sherpa for organizing what turned out to be a very beautiful day.
