Homemade Canned Applesauce is actually very easy!
In this video, I’ve included all the steps from washing to cooking to actually canning the applesauce. Canning frees up freezer space and keeps the prospect of loosing food from power outage lower.
Recipe:
-Clean, cut and place apples in large pot with water on the bottom.
-Let cook until apples are soft, stirring so they don’t stick to the bottom.
-Once done, place apples in a foley to revive peels, seeds and more.
-Place back on stove, add desired amount of sugar (none is also an option), add cinnamon and cook down till desired thickness is achieved.
-Ladle hot applesauce into clean jars, clean rim and place lid and ring.
-water bath can both quarts & pints for 20 minutes
-remove from canner and let cool overnight
-wash jars, removing rings, date and store
