This 1-hour training, offered by Dr. David Sanford, hematologist at the Leukemia/BMT Program of British Columbia, equips nurses with the knowledge and practical skills needed to support older adults diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in Canada. Participants will explore the Canadian AML treatment algorithm, with a focus on age-specific considerations, treatment tolerability, and supportive care strategies.
Through case-based learning and clinical insights, nurses will gain confidence in managing complex care needs, advocating for patient-centered decisions, and improving outcomes for this vulnerable population.
