‘The Loco-Motion’ is a pop song written in 1962 by Gerry Goffin and Carole King. The original version was recorded in 1962 by Eva Boyd, under the stage name Little Eva. She was Carol Kings babysitter and got a record deal that way. The song's lyrics describe the dance to be performed to the music. The song has been covered regularly, hitting the charts in both the 60s, 70s and 80s. The arrangement for concert band, fanfare and brass band was written by Jan van Kraeydonck.
