Viktor Goncharenko - Song for Violin and Organ - Fiona Ziegler violin - Ross Cobb organ

One of Sydney’s leading baroque violinists, Fiona Ziegler, and St Andrew's Cathedral Director of Music and Organist, Ross Cobb, play a world premiere of the moving work by modern Ukrainian composer Viktor Goncharenko, Song for Violin and Organ. Composed in Kyiv in 2022 after Bucha atrocities, the Song is a consolation to those who suffer, an answer to those seeking meaning amidst the tragic absurdity of their surroundings, and a pathway to the Divine. Performed on 8 February 2025 during Sounds of Hope Concert at St Andrew's Cathedral, Sydney, as part of the International Festival of Ukrainian Organ Music dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Ukrainian organ school and the 115th anniversary of its founder, Professor Arseniy Kotlyarevskyi. ‪@UkrainianOrganMusicFestival‬
