About Duane
Duane is a humble and approachable person. He brings his vast selling and training experiences not just to the classroom but afterward to help others achieve is quick to personally respond to his clients about any questions they may have via email, phone or text. He is real, cares for his students and comes from the heart. He always starts every training session with “gratitudes” (a moment to reflect on the things life has blessed you with) as well as “goals” (time to project what you want to become) and this attitude towards living has become a hallmark of his. Duane is the first to admit: “We are all a work in progress. People who knew me years ago, simply cannot believe what I have morphed into. I believe your failures will propel you as much as your successes if you reflect on being thankful in everything and use whatever opportunities you have today to improve yourself.” In simple terms he shows everyone how to work harder on themselves than they do on their business.
From a Canadian Automotive News interview: “I’m an introvert who decided to grow into a situational extrovert and I’ve been shaped more by personal pain then professional gain. Let’s just say I used to have a bit of a “Special” attitude. In my mid teens and very early 20’s I disengaged from my family, was fired from a couple of jobs, buried my best man and closest friend Stephen Gomez who died suddenly at age 22 from a brain aneurysm, lost my 36 year old business partner Terry Thornhill to lung cancer, was helping my wife through cancer, missed my last year of university while I took her back and forth to cancer clinics, had a couple of businesses go sour and endured some other lousy personal family situations. They were sudden massive wake up calls. I was forced to evolve or dissolve. I am very grateful for those hard times and to those that helped me through that period. After years of soul searching, a few great mentors and tons of studying, I eventually started to change my life. I became addicted to my own continuous improvement and eventually built a business that focuses on helping others learn from my mistakes as well as my breakthroughs and successes.”
